Project Manager

Job Summary

Cheppers is seeking a highly organized and results-oriented Project Manager to lead IT projects for our international and local clients. The role covers cloud engineering (AWS), web development (Drupal, PHP, React), and AI-powered solutions.

The Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end delivery, including planning, coordination, stakeholder communication, risk management, and project administration. You will act as the primary operational contact for clients and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality.

Generative AI is an integral part of how we work. We use AI tools daily and deliver projects ranging from rapid proof-of-concepts to production-ready AI applications. The ideal candidate combines strong project management fundamentals with curiosity, adaptability, and an interest in emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management: Plan and oversee all phases of projects, including discovery, development, testing, deployment, and handover.

Delivery Ownership: Manage scope, priorities, milestones, dependencies, resources, quality, timelines, and budgets.

Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with clients—primarily US-based—and internal teams.

Requirements and Scope Management: Facilitate discovery, clarify business requirements, document decisions, and manage scope changes.

Team Coordination: Monitor progress, remove roadblocks, resolve conflicts, and support effective collaboration between team members.

Risk and Oversight: Identify and mitigate delivery risks, track project time and budget, and prevent delays or overruns.

Project Administration: Maintain accurate project documentation, meeting notes, action items, status reports, and project tracking in JIRA or similar tools.

GenAI Project Delivery: Manage AI-focused proof-of-concepts and application projects, balancing experimentation with clear objectives, practical business value, and reliable delivery.

AI-Enabled Project Work: Use Generative AI tools in daily work to support planning, documentation, requirements analysis, risk assessment, and communication while critically reviewing their output and handling confidential information responsibly.

Continuous Improvement: Facilitate retrospectives and contribute to improving project management processes, tools, and delivery practices.

Requirements

Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a Project Manager in IT projects. Experience with web, cloud, or AI projects is an advantage but not required.

Languages: Fluent or advanced English and Hungarian. English is required for working with international clients.

Outstanding written and verbal communication
Practical understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Ability to manage scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and dependencies
Experience coordinating technical teams and resolving delivery issues
Strong stakeholder and requirements management skills
Regular, hands-on use of Generative AI tools in daily work
Critical thinking and adaptability to changing requirements
Strong ownership and accountability for successful project delivery

Nice to Have

Consultant attitude and Business Analyst skills
Experience with GenAI applications, AI proof-of-concepts, or other innovation-focused projects
Familiarity with LLMs, RAG, AI agents, or modern AI application patterns
Experience with web development, cloud, or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of AWS, DevOps, or cloud-native concepts
Familiarity with Drupal, PHP, React, or other web technologies
Experience with JIRA or similar project management tools
Experience facilitating technical discovery and solution-design processes
Awareness of data protection, security, and responsible AI considerations
